Introducing Colin Walton
Montage of the artist Colin Walton from Colin Walton Art UK

It was heartbreaking as a 17 year old that I was unable to attend my local School of Art but instead to go out into the world of employment.

So, many years later and following a very successful period in industry, I sold my business and began where that 17 year old had left off; still desperate to create artwork from that big plain canvas sitting on my easel.

By default you can describe me as being “self taught”. I prefer to say that I have had to delve deeply into my creative conscience to achieve a degree of artist merit that others find emotionally satisfying.

My studio is in Brereton, south Cheshire famous for its quaint villages and meandering lanes so a visit to see the studio and gallery would be a really pleasant day out. Freshly brewed coffee is always on hand!

The effects of light inspire me in my landscape paintings and the human spirit in my portraits, perhaps easy to drop-in quotes for the cynical but to the committed artist real feelings that makes every day spent in my studio or outside looking at natures gifts a wonderful and challenging voyage. My preferred medium is a blend of acrylic and charcoal.
